Burnt bone
Description
Burnt bones are extremely hard and similar to darkened rock. The porous structure common in unburnt bone is not always present. There is, however, subtle exterior ribbing, striations and pitting common to unburned faunal material. Color ranges from black/gray to white/whitish-blue.
