Welcome

I am an archaeologist specializing in the history of the ancient Near East. My work both as an archaeologist and museum curator draws from theoretical aspects of embodied spaces, materiality, and sensory approaches to the ancient past. I am also an advocate for public outreach concerning education on the ancient Near East and cultural heritage issues in general, such as the illicit antiquities trade and preservation of archaeological sites.

In my academic research I explore domestic economies and interregional interactions during the Late Uruk / Chalcolithic Period (3000 B.C.) in greater Mesopotamia. My particular specialties are in household archaeology and microdebris analysis. I am especially interested in the interactions between small-scale social groups like households and larger socioeconomic processes that are reflected in daily practices.
